Caregiver Scheduling, Recurring Events & Shared Care Calendar

A clear care calendar needs to show what is planned, what happened and what still needs attention—without treating those as the same thing.

One view, different record types

KinNotice is designed to display scheduled events, logged observations and medication-support activities in a connected timeline. A scheduled therapy appointment is a plan, not evidence that a session took place. A documented behavior or activity is an observation, not a future appointment.

Keeping these distinctions visible is particularly useful for families coordinating care and organizations providing scheduled services.

Recurring schedules with a real event lifecycle

The event experience is intended to support single and recurring activities, including daily, weekly and monthly schedules. Planned reminders can help caregivers anticipate appointments and routines.

When an occurrence is changed, the system should distinguish one date from the rest of the series. A completed, cancelled or rescheduled appointment should not keep appearing as though its original plan still applies.

Recipient-specific history

Calendar entries belong to the appropriate care recipient. Selecting a day should make its scheduled events and actual observations easier to review together, while applying current access permissions.

For organizations, this timeline can also become an entry point for service sessions, with separately recorded actual start and end times.

Example: a weekly community activity

A program schedules community participation for Wednesday afternoon. A staff member later documents the actual activity, the participant's choices and support provided. If the visit is cancelled, its schedule status changes; the cancellation is not counted as completed participation.

This distinction helps teams avoid misleading progress summaries and supports more accurate conversations with families and supervisors.

Questions people ask

Does an event on the calendar mean the activity happened?

No. KinNotice distinguishes scheduled events from documented care and actual service delivery.
